Our third grade classes are collecting data. They are providing recommendations for other students. And, they are evaluating reading trends for 8-9 year olds. Pretty impressive, don't you think?
We have 18 different series books on display in the library with a data chart attached to each title. After book talking the titles during library time, students are now reading these books. After they've read a book, they initial a small box that is attached to their teacher's name. Already students are able to see which series have been read the most, which class is reading which series, and what their friends are reading. Real world - real data - real impact.
